Social media platforms, online blogs, and independent news outlets publish vast amounts of content daily, making it increasingly difficult for readers to distinguish between credible journalism and misleading information. Veritas was inspired by the need to empower journalists, students, and everyday readers with a reliable tool to verify news content instantly.

The goal was simple: Make truth accessible, fast, and intelligent.

We wanted to build a system that doesn’t just display news — but actively evaluates it.

📚 What We Learned Building Veritas taught us: How to integrate AI APIs effectively into frontend applications. The importance of prompt engineering for better AI-generated analysis. Handling asynchronous data fetching and managing UI state in React. Designing clean, intuitive user interfaces for complex analytical outputs. The ethical responsibility that comes with building information-verification tools. We also learned that AI is powerful — but transparency in how results are presented is equally important.
