Our business idea is called VeriSafe, a multilingual cybersecurity education service designed to help older adults, families, and small businesses stay safe online.
VeriSafe is a cybersecurity education service that provides simple, patient, easy-to-understand cybersecurity education in any preferred language. We would offer short workshops, one-on-one support, multilingual handouts, and online resources. Our goal is not to overwhelm people with technical terms. Instead, we would teach practical skills, such as creating strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, recognizing suspicious messages, and protecting personal information.
We Built VeriSafe using GitHub, VS Code, and Gemini's API
Some challenges we ran into during this process were trying to successfully integrate the API onto our website's homepage and making sure we updated our links to the Spanish and English versions of the website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of are the website itself and successfully making our ideas a tangible thing you can interact with.
We learned how to implement an API into GitHub and how to navigate VS Code efficiently
What's next for VeriSafe: Next, we would love for VeriSafe to grow into an automatic digital scam-checking extension that's integrated into the customer's email system and gives them real-time warnings against suspicious emails.
