Inspiration
Startup investing is often slow, complex, and highly dependent on manual analysis. Investors have different priorities, preferences, and risk appetites, yet most tools provide generic insights. We were inspired to build a solution that delivers investor-customized due diligence, making startup evaluation faster, clearer, and tailored to each investor’s needs.
What it does
Veridue is an AI-powered, investor-customized due diligence platform that helps investors evaluate startups faster. It analyzes uploaded financial data and documents to identify risk flags, missing metrics, and benchmark gaps — all tailored to the investor’s focus.
It also simplifies complex technical information into personalized, investor-friendly insights, ensuring that each investor understands what matters most to them when making decisions.
How we built it
We built Veridue as a web application using modern frontend technologies and integrated AI for analysis. Users upload startup data, and the system processes it through AI models that generate customized outputs based on investor preferences.
The platform structures results into financial and technical audit dashboards, ensuring that insights are relevant, personalized, and decision-focused for each investor.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing a system that goes beyond generic AI outputs to deliver meaningful, investor-specific insights. Startup data is often messy and inconsistent, making it difficult to tailor analysis accurately.
We also had to ensure that customization does not compromise clarity, while simplifying complex technical concepts into personalized yet accurate explanations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a functional prototype that focuses on investor-centric and customizable due diligence. Instead of one-size-fits-all analysis, our platform adapts insights based on investor needs.
We also created two structured audit flows—financial and technical—delivering clear, personalized, and actionable insights that improve decision-making speed.
What we learned
We learned that investors don’t just need insights — they need relevant insights tailored to their perspective. Customization significantly improves usability and trust.
We also learned that AI is most powerful when it aligns with real user workflows, especially in high-stakes decisions like investing.
What's next for Veridue
Our next step is to enhance deep investor customization, allowing users to define their investment preferences, risk appetite, and focus areas.
We also plan to:
- build advanced personalization models for different investor profiles
- improve benchmarking using industry-specific datasets
- generate custom investor reports tailored to individual decision styles
- support more file formats like pitch decks and PDFs
- enable collaboration for investment teams
