Inspiration
Many people, especially children die in vain due to the use of counterfeit drugs all over Africa. We would like to solve this problem using an easy and easily accessible USSD app that allows drug purchasers to verify the authenticity of their medication.
What it does
It verifies the validity of medication using it's batch number, expiration and manufacture date by comparing that data against what is registered in our database by valid pharmaceutical manufacturers.
How we built it
We made a web portal to be used by valid pharmaceutical manufacturers to register their drugs and their batch numbers using Laravel. We made a USSD app for ordinary medicine purchasers to validate the medication. We built our db using MYSQL.
