Inspiration
I wanted to create a premium-looking portfolio website to showcase the power of pure CSS in modern web design. Beyond aesthetics, the site also has practical value - it’s fully functional and could be used to promote a team of developers and scientists working on digital solutions for sustainable agriculture.
What it does
This draft website highlights the benefits of collaborating with the Verdant Studio team to build sustainable digital agriculture systems. It follows a landing-page style and includes portfolio, about us, pricing, and contact/order sections - like a classic, familiar website structure.
How we built it
I built it strictly with accordance to the rules of this hackathon - without a single line of JavaScript. The site relies entirely on pure HTML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
It was both challenging and educational to implement features without JavaScript, such as a back-to-top button, animations, and interactive elements.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud that I was able to implement nearly all of my planned animations and styling purely with CSS.
What we learned
I gained a lot of new knowledge and practical skills in CSS. It’s truly a powerful tool when you know how to harness it!
What's next for Verdant Studio
After the hackathon, this project will evolve into a real platform to showcase and promote the work of my colleagues and me in agricultural science and IT.
