Many people struggle with public speaking and communication, but most don't have a safe place to practice regularly. I wanted to create a more engaging alternative to traditional speaking practice.

What it does

Verba is an AI communication coach that helps users improve public speaking, confidence, storytelling, and interview skills through realistic podcast-style conversations.

Users speak naturally, and Verba responds like a podcast host, asking follow-up questions, challenging ideas, and keeping the conversation engaging.

How I built it

I built Verba as a voice-first web application using AI conversation systems, speech recognition, text-to-speech, and real-time communication analysis.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was making conversations feel natural instead of repetitive. I also worked on creating useful communication feedback without interrupting the flow of conversation.

What I learned

I learned that communication skills improve best through practice, and AI can create an accessible environment where anyone can practice speaking anytime.

What's next

I plan to add more realistic AI hosts, deeper speaking analytics, personalized coaching, and additional training modes for students, creators, and professionals.
