Before we started planning for this project, we realized that there are many organizations that are hosting charities and initiatives to help bring positivity during this time of COVID-19 or any other issues. But the problem was, there isn’t one platform that provides all these opportunities/charities out there and we all agreed that it can be hard sometimes when finding for a charity to donate to or events we can join to keep entertained and to continue learning. Especially as a highschooler looker to explore different fields.

That is why we thought of VaraCharity! It is a website that Merges all charities, initiatives and world updates into one easy, accessible place to find. So whenever you are feeling generous and want to donate to a cause. You can go on VaraCharity to find the best initiative you support. The website includes opportunities and charities filtered into international, countries, and cities. Due to the whole Covid-19 pandemic and other global challenges, we also included a section where people can share their stories through reports and donate to Covid-19 related charities. When you are feeling bored during quarantine and want to meet some cool people who have the same interests as you, VaraCharity can be here to show you all the events out there at the moment.

What it does

A virtual tour . . .

Home page; features an "about us" section and 3 buttons with the options "international", "national", and "cities"

from here if international is clicked . . . **International; **The user enters into a page showing the different opportunities and charities they can donate to on an international scale

if national is clicked . . . **National; **The user enters into a page showing different countries in button format, the user clicks into one of them and categories in button format such as "education", and "health" open up. The user than clicks into one of these categories, for example, "health", and organizations and opportunities related to that country open up

if cities is clicked . . . Cities; The user enters into a page showing different countries in button format, the user clicks into one of them and provinces/territories/states for that country open up in button format ("Ontario", "Quebec"). The user then presses one of the options, for example, "Ontario", and a page with opportunities, and organizations opens up. The cities page features a map of the different locations of the charities/organizations and a table of contents section on the top to easily navigate through the different categories.

on the main menu task bar; if Issues/Reports is clicked . . . *Issues/ Reports; *(news report)... recent COVID-19 update/reports

if COVID-19 page is clicked from main menu COVID-19; Leads to tons of initiatives led by different organizations funding/improving the COVID-19 pandemic. At the bottom, it also features the reports written by users about their experiences during quarantine and their opinions.

How I built it

Google sites

if overhead banner is clicked; Overhead banner; takes you to the COVID-19 page, this banner and COVID-19 page will change overtime to address different issues around the world

Challenges I ran into

Figuring out how to link pages, use buttons, use table of contents, and add the map.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The website flows well and is organized. Many subpages and buttons were added so the user could easily navigate the site and find what they're looking for.

What I learned

Gained familiarity with google sites, and learning to design maps.

What's next for VeraCharity

Expanding our website to include all the major organizations on an international, national, and city-wide scale. Adjusting the covid-19 pages to feature any major events going on- aid with natural disaster, etc. Education section; features webinars to educate people on social issues
