Inspiration
We were inspired by local workers who care about the environment more than anything. After learning that people value nature and would do anything to take care of it in shows and movies, we were inspired to create our own virtual game which headlines a character trying to pick up as much trash as they possibly can in some amount of time. If they succeed to do so, they win!
What it does
Along with the creation of our game that models a person picking up trash, we have also created an infographic about climate change and global warming. We have inputted a lot of facts about climate change/global warming and what readers can do as individuals to help the earth.
How we built it
Using HTML, C#, and JavaScript, we incorporated images, designed a vibrant background with borders, and experimented with font sizes to create a visually appealing project.
Challenges we ran into
There were quite a lot of challenges our group ran into. Firstly, we couldn't quite figure out how to add a colorful background for our website and we were having trouble organizing a scoreboard for our game as well. But in the end (after going through a lot of YouTube videos for reference), we were able to figure out how to do both of those things and we found solutions to our problems.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We, as a team, are very proud of accomplishing a very well-built game as well as an organized website in a very less amount of time. We could not find certain times to meet where everyone was online, but yet, we were still able to finish the project and make something that we were proud of.
What we learned
Through this hackathon, our team learned a few things. One of them being how to install buttons and input them in a way where all the text is connected. Additionally, we also learned how to install borders and learned more JavaScript and CSS than we originally had known before this hackathon.
