Inspiration

While working on my Trishul App project and diving into research on uncertainty principles, I happened to chat with a few IIT startup founders during a Ganesh Chaturthi puja. We ended up talking for hours, and they kept coming back to the same major headache: trying to reach out to businesses and actually land investment is a messy, exhausting grind. That conversation stuck with me, so in my free time between projects, I decided to build Venture LinkUp to fix that exact problem.

What it does

Venture LinkUp is a mobile-first social platform designed to simplify business-to-business networking and connect emerging startups directly with investors. It unifies verified business profiles, targeted discovery feeds, and real-time market updates into a single app, giving founders a clean space to showcase their work and bypass traditional cold outreach hassles.

How we built it

I built the entire application directly on my smartphone using low-code tools and modular design principles. I structured intuitive card-based feeds for business profiles, created dedicated hubs for market perspectives, and organized dynamic database links so investors and founders can connect seamlessly with minimal friction.

Challenges we ran into

Designing and testing a multi-screen application purely on a mobile screen came with serious UI layout constraints. Balancing detailed business metrics, market data, and networking features without cluttering the small screen required constant tweaking to get the information architecture right.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What I'm most proud of is taking a real, painful headache—something actual IIT founders complained about over a long chat—and building a real fix for it right from my phone. Balancing this alongside my other projects wasn't easy, but figuring out how to fit complex business data, networking, and market updates into a clean, simple layout on a small screen felt awesome. It proved to me that if you focus on solving a genuine problem, you don't need a huge team or fancy setup to build something that actually works.

What we learned

I learned how to execute a product quickly from concept to prototype, proving that strong product logic matters more than thousands of lines of code. The experience also showed me how to translate real-world conversations and user feedback into a functional design that solves a practical bottleneck.

What's next for Venture LinkUp

Looking ahead, the main goal is to get this app out of the prototype phase and into the hands of real founders. I want to build in a smart matching feature so founders can easily find investors who actually care about their specific industry and stage, rather than just broadcasting to everyone. I'm also planning to reach out to student entrepreneurship cells—like the ones at the IITs—to help verify profiles so the community stays legitimate and trustworthy. Beyond that, I want to add quick tools inside the app to help young founders build clean pitch decks right from their phones, and then run a small beta test to let real user feedback shape where Venture LinkUp goes next.
