Inspiration

I love journalling, it can be really calming and therapeutic. But the classic way of journaling isn't for everyone and being a lover of technology, I wanted to combine journaling and technology to create a fun and unique product that can be used by anybody who has a smartphone and reasons to be stressed.

What it does

The app asks you how your day went every day. It also has an option to rant whenever you feel like it. When you speak your frustration out, it uses assembly API to transcribe your speech to text and store it for you to read the journal entry later if you feel like it. It has resources such as therapists and videos, and short activities you can do to relieve your stress and anger. It helps you access what is causing your stress and frustration so you can help yourself or seek help.

How we built it

The assemblyapi transcription part is built using html, css, and javascript. The app is built using figma.

Challenges we ran into

Learning how to use the API within one day and building something with it. Mainly time was a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of coming up with the app all by myself and participating in a hackathon alone for the first time.

What we learned

  • UI/UX
  • How to work with APIs

What's next for VentItOut

Make the application functional and build its backend.
