Inspiration

During the introduction, in specifically Nelson Shen's presentation, we have noticed that a barrier for people opening up and talking about themselves is the lack of anonymity. We hope to create a platform that preserves anonymity, while giving users the feeling that they are being listened to.

What it does

We have created a social media-like platform that mainly focuses on voice clips for the posts. Although having a username provides anonymity for the user, as an extra layer, we decided to leave the username out of the post, and have the post be primarily the caption and the voice clip.

How we built it

Although none of our team members have any experience with web development, under the guide of a tutorial video, we developed this application in React and Firebase. The link we have used is the following: link

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge, being new to the entire React framework, as well as Firebase, was learning how to use the framework, and to develop our app in a single day. Due to time constraints, we were unable to accomplish some functions that we have intended to incorporate for this project, but overall, we are happy with what we were able to finish in a days time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The implementation of majority of our intended functions: user authentication, post creation, file upload. The accomplishment that we are most proud of is the deployment of our first web app despite having no knowledge in React or Firebase.
