Inspiration
Covid-19 requires us to keep a distance in public places, especially indoors, in restaurants and shops.
In order to maintain the regulatory guidelines for social distancing in shops and other venues, only a limited number of people are allowed to visit a shop at the same time, depending on the floor area of the venue.
For the shop owner, this often means asking an employee to keep track of the number of people entering and leaving the shop.
When new customers arrive, often they need to wait in line outside of the overcrowded shop.
VenOwl offers a simple and minimalistic solution for both problems.
What it does
VenOwl keeps track of how crowded your favorite venue or shop is. It gives shop owners a tool to comply with guidelines of social distancing effortlessly and gives customers the chance to avoid peak times at the local supermarket.
Here's how it works:
If a new customer enters a local shop, she scans the unique QR-code at the front of the shop. If there is enough space to allow social distancing, the customer is invited into the shop, otherwise, VenOwl asks her to wait outside. At the same time, other potential customers can monitor how crowded the shop is in the VenOwl web app. This gives them the opportunity to plan their shopping trip and avoid crowded places without having to wait in any queue.
