Inspiration

Our main inspiration was the desire to explore new ways to apply what we know even beyond our comfort zones. We knew this challenge wouldn’t be easy or fully in our area, but that’s exactly what makes it exciting. We wanted to learn, grow, and create something meaningful while representing Mexican woman talent in innovation.

What it does

Venera is a financial empowerment platform designed to make money management simple, visual, and intelligent. At its core is Ardana, an AI-powered financial planner that helps users visualize their goals, project future outcomes, and make confident financial decisions.

Venera includes three key features: What-If Simulator: test your choices before making them, adjust variables, visualize outcomes, and see your financial future unfold in real time. Smart Dashboard: track your income, expenses, and performance insights all in one personalized, adaptive hub. AI Financial Copilot: ask questions naturally and receive personalized recommendations, turning complex data into clear next steps. Also with a login personalized and secure. Together, Venera and Ardana transform financial planning into a seamless, intelligent, and human experience.

How we built it

We designed the entire user experience in Figma, focusing on clarity and accessibility. The frontend was developed in React with TailwindCSS, connected to a Node.js + Express backend. We integrated Gemini AI as our intelligent financial copilot Aranda to analyze user data and provide personalized insights. Using MediaPipe, we implemented biometric Face ID recognition for secure and seamless logins. We worked with Banorte-provided databases, transforming them into JSON structures to generate real-time financial simulations. Every component was designed for scalability and simplicity making finance management feel human, not technical.

Challenges we ran into

None of us had a background in finance, and that’s why we built Venera for people like us, who want to understand their finances better. Our biggest challenge was time management, we overestimated how long each step would take, from building the UI to linking the data flow. But we adapted quickly, learned fast, and made it happen.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we delivered something functional, intelligent, and meaningful, even though it was our first time using these tools. We learned about finance, data logic, and real teamwork, turning a simple idea into a working prototype that feels powerful and intuitive.

What we learned

We learned that you don’t need to stay in a single role, everyone can contribute across design, logic, and code when you share the same goal. We also learned to respect every step of the process, from concept to implementation, each phase has its own time and complexity. Most of all, we learned to trust our vision and each other.

What's next for Venera_InnovatHers

In the future, we want Venera to fully connect with Banorte’s APIs allowing users to sync their real financial data securely. We also plan to add personalized notifications and smart goal reminders, like: “You’re 80% closer to your savings goal — keep it up!” “You're spending increased this week. Want to simulate a new outcome?” Our long-term vision is to make Verena a true financial companion, one that not only analyzes data but understands habits, predicts trends, and helps people make smarter decisions every day.
