Inspiration
We built Velix AI to reduce the noise in modern digital communication and give users a fast, intelligent assistant that can understand and respond to queries in a simple, efficient way. The goal was to make AI feel like a natural productivity layer instead of a separate tool.
What it does
Velix AI is a web-based AI assistant that answers questions, processes prompts, and generates structured responses in real time. It provides a smooth chat experience with fast AI responses and clean UI rendering.
How we built it
Velix AI is built using React, Vite, and Tailwind CSS for the frontend, with Framer Motion for animations. It connects to external AI APIs (like Groq/Mistral-style models) to generate responses. The project is deployed on Railway.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges handling inconsistent AI responses, structuring outputs in a clean UI, and managing performance with multiple frontend libraries while keeping the app fast and responsive.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built and deployed a working AI assistant with a modern interface, integrated real AI models, and created a scalable structure that can support future integrations like Slack agents.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate AI APIs, structure a scalable frontend architecture, and design a responsive UI that handles dynamic AI-generated content effectively.
What's next for Velix AI
Next, we plan to add Slack agent integration, improve memory and personalization features, and expand Velix AI into a multi-platform productivity assistant.
