veil vote

Inspiration

I wanted to learn about web3. This was the first time I used these kind of tools and there was an election few months ago in my country so I decided to make a simple voting dApp

What it does

It allows the user to vote for either Bob or Alice and tracks the votes in a private decentralized system

How we built it

I built is using compose and next.js

Challenges we ran into

I had many difficulties integrating midnight into next.js with node getting errors regarding a missing module and the issue was trying to use the tools in browser during pre-render. I solved it by splitting it into server and client files. In addition to this lace has an issue with its layout and I can't access some of the options without going to dev mode and changing its size

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully wrote compact code.

What web3 is how it works and why it is needed and what makes midnight unique from others like ethereum.

What's next for veil vote

Making it take candidates dynamically and support multiple voting in a single system and add additional criteria for voting
