Inspiration
I had a summer camp in Japan last month. We experienced two 4-degree earthquakes, and a lot of people were in panic. However, the organizer could not coordinate everyone properly, and it caused a lot of chaos in communication, and it took a lot of time to make sure people were safe. Until the second day was the check in finished. This lack of effective communication in serious situations can cause so many danger.
What it does
Vega allows organizers to manage their complex events (hackathons, summer camps, hikings, etc.) using a simple interface. Organizers create an event and share the event code to participants. The organizer can check in on each participant and keep in touch.
How we built it
I used
Challenges we ran into
During the development of live share locations and code, the website repeatedly caches the data, and it took me quite a while to remove that error
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Made a functional website based on my previous experiences
Created a useful website for organizers to manage activities.
What we learned
How to incorporate map locations in webs.
How to make applications that run on both phone and website.
What's next for Vega
Make more helpful features for large activities
