Inspiration
Veelings stands for Video Feelings. Veelings enhances the user experience on responding feelings on Video and made a new way Video rankings and search using Feelings. We make a new Facebook Creators more discoverable using feeling categorization method.
We were inspired by Facebook’s way to collect user feelings on every post by using a new way of ‘Like’, so we were thinking of creating a automatic feelings response on Facebook Video, without any written input from the user.
What it does
In Veelings, we created a new way of collecting user response feelings using real-time Image Recognition while the user is watching the video.
Veelings categorized the response under several feelings (Sad, Joy, Contempt, Surprise, Disgust, and Anger) and integrates it with Facebook Messenger Bot.
We created a Messenger Bot as the bridge to facilitate the communication between the user and our web application.
User can explore Veeling's database of Videos (which we pull from Facebook Videos) and every Sad, Joy, Contempt, Surprise, Disgust, and Anger feelings of users which already watched that particular video.
How we built it
We build it over Affectiva API, Node.JS and Bootstrap and Facebook Messenger. We have our own platform which we planned to integrate it with Facebook functionality, and a Messenger Bot.
Challenges we ran into
We have challanges to make some recommendation videos accurately. This method still under maintenanced, to get accurate video for recommended.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We can build these Veelings and launch it smoothly using tracking of feeling, and people can search Video using feelings.
What we learned
We learned a lot of things, beside of team consists of some people with different age, make us learn somethings new and sharing experience together. Make better relationship and communication.
What's next for Veelings
Further, we want to develop this application more funny and interesting to entertaint user and give the best recommendation for user. We are open to make collaboration and hope this application can be implemented as one of facebook features.
