Inspiration
Ever gone to offices in institution or organisations such as universities, hospitals, government agencies or even personal home libraries and see piles of documents and credentials taking more space than the furniture or just littering everywhere making it an eye sore? Well that birth the idea of Veecerts.
A personal story was when I went to my University to retrieve my Transcript and how it took from hours, to days then months, going to the office almost everyday to search and recover that document, to process for my masters.
What it does
Veecert is a decentralize verification service that's revolutionizing the way credentials and documents (data) are stored, authenticated and verified.
How we built it
Built on ICP (Internet Computer Protocol) Blockchain, Veecert leverages the inherent security, transparency, and immutability of this technology to provide a seamless and trustworthy verification process. Our platform aims to eliminate fraud, enhance trust, and streamline the validation of documents across various industries.
Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) has several unique features that distinguish it from other blockchain platforms; It's Unlimited Scalability, Chain Key Technology, Web-Speed Performance, Decentralized Storage, Identity Management to mention a few.
Challenges we ran into
We are still building and on the testing phase aiming to go live on mainnet. Most of our challenge balls down to some limitations in our team as we need a marketing expertise to sell our solution because most members of our team are mostly Devs. We need financial resources as we want to integrate added features such as batch minting of documents and a way not only to store them but to verify them as well using Zero Knowledge (Zk) proofs. Other challenges would include sensitizing these organisations to see why they need our solution for easy, fast and a more functional data system.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the journey thus far, having pitched and won in the Tokenized Economy 1st edition at Base University Abuja. We have trained and added more Devs to the team, having developed a fully functional website (MVP) to show that our solution actually works. Check links below.
What we learned.
We learnt to be patient as all good things take time, and improve the depth of your team as most successful projects are also determined by team itself. Visibility is also very important, because it's only then people would know what solutions and problems to you're trying to solve.
