Inspiration

I was looking through some greek sculptures because I wanted to create a design from that era, something abstract that speaks volumes, different and ambiguous to each listener.

What is it?

"Vedi" is an amalgamation of the first two words of the popular Caesar phrase "Veni Vidi Vici" which translates to "I came, I saw, I conquered." The artwork comprises a decapitated sculpture with its head severed from the eye-line upward. For me, it's a rendition of "I came, I saw--" he's either yet to conquer or they persecuted him for what he did see. The streaks and swirling rings are my way of keeping creativity afloat. Basically, regardless what happens, there's hope. Color in even the darkest atriums. The sculpture however is of King David, not Caesar. There's a biblical reference there. Lot's wife got turned into stone for what she saw. What she looked back to see. It's a bittersweet love letter. Life will hurl its best jabs at us, and for some of us, more frequently. The key is to live looking forward, not back. Dark days will come, but inevitably, so will the bright ones.
