Inspiration

Building a startup is notoriously fragmented. Founders often spend weeks toggling between market research, systems architecture, and financial modeling before writing a single line of code. We wanted to completely eradicate this bottleneck. We were inspired to compress the "weeks-to-MVP" timeline into an instantaneous experience. We envisioned Vector—a centralized "Command Center" where a dedicated C-suite of autonomous AI agents collaborates in parallel to turn a raw idea into a fully documented, scalable business plan.

What it does

Vector is an AI Business Command Center that provides founders with an elite, multi-agent executive council right in their browser. You input a single idea, and four specialized agents—Prism (Lead Architect), Atlas (CEO), Nexus (CTO), and Ledger (CFO)—simultaneously go to work. In under 8 seconds, Vector outputs a comprehensive Go-To-Market strategy, a highly scalable microservice architecture plan, and a projected 12-month financial model, all beautifully formatted in a real-time markdown editor.

How we built it

We built Vector's core infrastructure using Next.js and React, focusing on a premium, dark-mode glassmorphism aesthetic that feels like a high-end enterprise terminal.

  • Frontend: We utilized framer-motion for fluid micro-animations and designed a custom real-time telemetry log that keeps users engaged while agents process data.
  • Performance: To handle the high-frequency UI updates from multiple parallel agents, we implemented rigorous React optimization techniques (like React.memo) to prevent re-rendering bottlenecks.
  • Backend & Data: We implemented Next.js API routes to act as a secure proxy, and integrated a robust MongoDB Atlas infrastructure for persisting active sessions, past conversations, and generated markdown documents.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most significant challenges was orchestrating multiple AI agents without severely bottlenecking the frontend or hitting strict rate limits. Processing complex logic for $n$ agents simultaneously typically creates $O(n)$ latency. We overcame this by engineering a highly efficient, parallelized asynchronous pipeline.

Another major hurdle was deployment architecture. Navigating Vercel's Edge runtime constraints while maintaining a persistent connection to our backend required deep refactoring. We built graceful offline fallbacks and custom error-handling into our Next.js API routes (/api/conversations), ensuring the application UI never crashes even if a specific microservice drops out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of the visual aesthetic and the raw speed of the application. Turning a complex, multi-agent AI orchestration into an experience that feels instant, fluid, and incredibly premium is a massive win. We're also proud of our security implementation—successfully sanitizing our deployment pipeline and establishing a robust foundation for a secure, monetizable platform.

What we learned

We learned that perceived performance is just as critical as raw compute speed. By implementing detailed telemetry logs and skeleton-loading states, we kept users highly engaged during the agent synthesis phase. We also deepened our understanding of Next.js serverless proxying, learning how to decouple heavy AI inference from the client-facing application to guarantee a smooth user experience.

What's next for Vector

Our immediate next step is integrating automated Stripe payment gateways to officially launch our monetized freemium tiers. Beyond that, we plan to expand the Executive Council—adding specialized agents for Legal Compliance and UX Design—evolving Vector into the ultimate, comprehensive "Startup in a Box" ecosystem.
