Inspiration
CVs are and can be faked pretty easily, we have all written a CV or viewed one, but despite it being present everywhere, it still relies on relatively old ways to verify data. So we decided to revolutionize your traditional CV and make it verifiable
What it does
VCV allows you to create verifiable CVs by combining your existing verifiable credentials, and allowing you to be able to add verifiable experiences by requesting digitally signed endorsements from your colleague's.
How we built it
VCV uses our open source identity starter kit and DID and VC libraries, it uses Verifiable credentials to prove and validate claims.
It uses Nest.JS, Typescript, Postgres, SvelteKit and @tanglelabs SSI stack
Challenges we ran into
PDFs were a pain to deal with, the export to PDF still doesnt look as good as it should but that is something we would continue to work on after the hackathon has finished, PDF export needs some work on how it looks
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of creating a new revolution in the world of CVs and making it completely verifiable with verifiable proof of experience.
What we learned
We learnt about the creative use of VCs when it comes to proving an experience and a lot about PDF files.
What's next for VCV
VCV will be launched as a stand alone product after undergoing a refactor and security review, and will also be added as a modular extension to Auvo - the larger organization identity management platform we have previously developed.
