Inspiration
Many NGOs struggle with managing donations transparently and efficiently, especially when handling multiple donors, payment methods, and follow-ups. I wanted to build a simple digital system that helps NGOs track donations easily while giving donors confidence and clarity about where their money goes.
What it does
Vayuseva is a donation management platform that allows NGOs to receive, track, and manage donations digitally. Donors can contribute using QR-based payments, while NGOs can view all donations, donor details, and support requests through an admin dashboard.
How I built it
I built Vayuseva as a full-stack web application using React for the frontend, Node.js and Express for the backend, and MongoDB for data storage. I designed REST APIs for donation handling, built responsive UI with Tailwind CSS, and deployed the application for real-world use.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenges were handling payment flow securely, managing real-time updates for donations, and designing a dashboard that is simple but informative for NGOs. Ensuring data consistency and building a clean user experience took multiple iterations.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Built and deployed a complete real-world product end-to-end
Designed a user-friendly admin dashboard for NGOs
Integrated QR-based payments for easy donations
Created a scalable backend structure for future features
What I learned
I learned how to take ownership of a product from idea to deployment, design clean APIs, manage databases effectively, and iterate based on user needs. This project also taught me the importance of simplicity and reliability in real-world systems.
What’s next for Vayuseva
I plan to add automated receipts, donor analytics, recurring donations, and better reporting features. I also want to onboard more NGOs and make Vayuseva a complete digital toolkit for nonprofit organizations.
