🏦 VaultOS — A Retro-Futuristic Financial Command Center

💡 Inspiration We realized most financial apps are built for experts, not beginners. New users constantly fall for phishing links, get overwhelmed by graphs and jargon, and struggle to build saving habits. VaultOS was born from the idea that finance should feel simple, safe, and visual — like operating a futuristic control panel that teaches you as you go.

⚙️ How We Built It VaultOS is a full-stack platform combining modern tech with retro aesthetics: • Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui • Backend: FastAPI (Python 3.13) with Pydantic + HTTPX • Security Engine: Custom 15-signal phishing and fraud detection system • AI Integration: Google Gemini for plain-English transaction insights • Infrastructure: Uvicorn server, CORS middleware, and fully offline demo mode

🚀 Outcome In under 24 hours, we built a working prototype with a functioning backend, live phishing detection, and AI-powered financial insights — all wrapped in a sleek retro-futuristic interface. VaultOS makes finance approachable for newcomers, proving that security and simplicity can coexist.
