Inspiration
As I was scrolling through Devpost I noticed this hackathon and instantly signed up. I saw it as an opportunity to learn java and create and android app so I just took it.
What it does
My app lets you save transactions in lists and cards, making them all in one place, easy to find, while not intruding your privacy.
How we built it
I built it around android studio in java and xml. I was so cool seeing how to code an actual app and for sure going to come back next year. We started building the ui first then going on about a button a day, which took a long time but in the end I think it's worth it.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge I ran into was saving data as it was really complicated and caused me a bunch of errors; I managed to overcome this through the help of my resources and the terminal which showed me all of my errors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am really proud of the fact that I was able to create an entire app in the span of 37 days where most of them were just learning days. Also, I'm proud that I was able to understand all the code and actually code it myself.
What we learned
Except saying that I learned all the concepts and how to create an app, the biggest thing I learned was time management as you could have all the time in the world but it goes by so fast.
What's next for Vault
Being agle to scan receipts and automatically get put into the different lists.
