Inspiration

We wanted a way to navigate through collections of pictures and video by using a walking motion

How it works

Using Bare Conductive Touch board, and custom sensor array (foil pads), emulate key presses (1-9,0,-,=). This triggers processing to select a particular image from the collection. VDMX takes processing canvas and does additional effects.

Challenges I ran into

Sensitivity of capacitive sensors Beginners, not much coding knowledge. Computers misbehaving

We created good looking visuals that respond to the input

What's next for Varioscope

Develop system to pull images and order by content. interpolate positions between sensor inputs. Investigate rendering of parallax in a new form of generated media. Develop the visual experience into story telling
