Inspiration

Our inspiration came from our internship experience last year, where we worked closely with the sales and marketing teams. During this time, we noticed a significant gap in how documents and templates addressed regional and cultural diversity. Many materials lacked contextual relevance, especially for Indian audiences. This made us realize there was an opportunity to build a bridge between design and cultural inclusivity using Adobe’s ecosystem.

What It Does

VARIANCE is an AI-powered Adobe add-on that enhances documents and templates by adapting them to regional context. It helps creators make content more culturally relevant by intelligently analyzing and improving text, colors, and design elements using AI.

How We Built It

We developed this add-on by feeding canvas metadata directly into our AI system. The model analyzes text and color usage and provides immediate, actionable feedback. It validates design choices against Indian cultural datasets, ensuring that documents align better with regional norms and expectations—all through a seamless, one-click workflow.

Challenges We Ran Into

One of the biggest challenges was managing AI context efficiently while ensuring smooth integration into Adobe’s environment. Making the analysis fast, accurate, and accessible through one-click automations required careful design and iteration.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of

We successfully implemented the core functionality of the add-on within the given time constraints. Building a working prototype that delivers meaningful insights was a major milestone for our team.

What We Learned

This project was a huge learning experience. We gained hands-on exposure to AI integration, design validation, and real-world product thinking. It was an invaluable experience that helped us grow both technically and professionally.

What’s Next for VARIANCE

Due to time constraints, we were unable to fully train our own custom AI model. Our next step is to develop and launch a dedicated model tailored specifically for regional and cultural intelligence, further improving accuracy and impact.
