Vaporwave Nostalgia

Inspiration

The nostalgia wave that hits when you remember the 80's and 90's era has been an inspiration for me. From artists such as Michael Jackson to games such as vice city, I have been inspired by the quality of their content.

What it does

Vaporwave is a combination of electronic music, a visual art style, and a remix of songs such as electronic, jazz, etc. It helps soothe/relax the brain and provide a nostalgic wave of the '80s and '90s. It depicts visual imagery and various genres of music.

How I built it

I created the image using photoshop. The main theme colors are based on purple and orange. Later I used premiere pro to combine several genres of music such as the main theme of Pac man and vice city. I also edited a clip of vice city and added to the main video with visual imagery of the vaporware aesthetics.

Challenges I ran into

I have never used photoshop and premiere pro before. It took me around 6 hours to create the image from drawing the sun to the lines to the circles. Premiere Pro was easier to get since it involved more of combining stuff rather than creating them.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I was able to complete the project within 10 hours. Usually, I take up days to understand certain parts of software but I was able to complete this within the mentioned deadline.

What I learned

I learned Photoshop and Premiere Pro from scratch. I was able to create a near realistic image of the vaporware theme along with the themed music.

What's next for Vaporwave retro vice city + photoshop image

I look further to create a 3D model of the same using Blender or Unity. And have motion-based features such as the sun glowing, a car moving et cetera.
