Inspiration

I recently wrote my last exam and one of my major complaints then was that I had a lot of notes and video lectures in different formats. The problem with this was that it was hard keeping track of where I had seen or heard something. This often lead to me having multiple PDF and Lecture videos open trying to find some random piece of information I had consumed months ago and whose origin I could not remember. Searching through all these PDFs and listening to videos at 1.75x was really frustrating, hence the creation of VantaSearch

What is VantaSearch

VantaSearch is a personal search engine for those wanting to index and search their different media sources in the same place. We use AI to convert different media formats into plain searchable text so you can find what you need even if it's in video format

How we built it

VataSearch was built using FlutterFlow, we use firebase as our database for fast queries. Assembly AI is used to transcribe all audio and video formats. Then we use Algolia search to index the results and provide quick search results

Challenges we ran into

The time constraints were hectic, also I have never used an AI so that was also a challenge

Use cases

Although we're focusing on students right now, there are many potential use cases that we'd like to explore such as in enterprise application and integration with note-taking apps like notion

To Test

What's next for VantaSearch

We were not able to fully finalise the document search and transcription so that will be the next step.
