Inspiration

SMEs are the backbone of the economy, yet many struggle to survive despite having strong revenues. We observed that delayed payment cycles of 30–120 days create severe cash-flow stress, forcing businesses to slow down hiring, expansion, and daily operations. Traditional finance systems fail to recognize unpaid invoices as valuable assets. This inspired us to explore how DeFi and real-world asset tokenization could unlock liquidity without requiring physical collateral.

What It Does

Vanguard Flow enables SMEs to access instant working capital by financing verified, MNC-backed invoices through decentralized infrastructure. Invoices are validated, tokenized, and funded via DeFi liquidity pools, allowing businesses to receive funds immediately while investors earn returns from real trade settlements. Privacy-preserving ZK-KYB verification ensures compliance without exposing sensitive business data.

How We Built It

Frontend: Built using TypeScript with Tailwind CSS for a clean, responsive SME dashboard.

Backend: Developed with Node.js (Express) to handle invoice submission, off-chain verification, and metadata processing.

Blockchain Layer: Implemented Solidity smart contracts for invoice tokenization and funding logic.

Network: Deployed on Shardeum, leveraging its scalability and low-latency transaction processing.

Verification: Integrated ZK-KYB concepts to validate business legitimacy while maintaining data privacy.
