VanGo: Light Painting Robot

We designed a robot that paints with light to make long exposure photography easily customizable! Our vision is to make long exposure art as easy as this -- a user draws anything on a tablet/computer app, and the doodle path motion will be mimicked by our robotic arm in mid-air. In effect, our robot would scale up the artist's custom light painting design, turning the physical environment into a giant canvas. Our robotic arm has two degrees of freedom (like a double pendulum) to freely access all points in a drawn path. This robotic arm is controlled by an Arduino, which computes and controls the angles of the joints in a continuous manner using the Cartesian coordinates tracked from the user's doodle.
