Inspiration
WarioWare and Mario Party type games were a huge source of inspiration for Valen-Time Trials
What it does
Our game takes the player through V-Day themed three timed challenges and three opportunities to rack up as many points as possible
How we built it
The game was created using Python's Pygame library, Pillow for image manipulation, and numpy for indexing features
Challenges we ran into
The slow-reveal functionality of the image ID game took a while to get just right, originally it was so memory-intensive my computer melted through my desk
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We've always talked about making a mini-game collection like this and it's great to finally buckle up and get it done!
What we learned
We learned more about image manipulation in Python, using sprites in Pygame, and implementing different music tracks
What's next for Valen-Time Trials
Eventually we'll turn it into a .exe file for broader distribution. We might also add a fourth mini-game if we have the time, we had a few ideas that were scrapped early on we could revisit.
