Inspiration
The global pandemic has brought our world to a jarring halt. The whole world is anxious about reopening of our communities and going back to normal life and many small businesses have been negatively affected.
What it does
VacTrax is a health web app that facilitates a safe reopening of the local community, while also encouraging those around us to get vaccinated. Our mission is to support these small businesses, while also creating progress towards a more socioeconomically just and healthy society.
How we built it
This application is bootstrapped with Create React App. The techstack used for the project is React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, Bootstrap, git,Github.
Challenges we ran into
- Streamline our idea's & to come up with our App designs.
- Integrate data tables & pie charts with our App.
- To convert our idea's into an App within a day.
- How to protect sensitive health vaccination data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Our App facilitates a safe reopening of the local community & can be directly integrated with event hosting services like Evite, Eventbrite etc. Our App can also be used to promote local events/small businesses.
- Using Chart.js API to analyze health data and display in a user-friendly manner
- Sleek UI with latest frontend technologies, widgets, and working functionalities
- Created and analyzed various personas to develop the perfect app that encompasses everyone's needs.
- Protected sensitive health data by creating an anonymous breakdown of vaccination statuses which can be shared.

What's next for VacTrax
Currently we are are maintaining mock data within our app. In the future, we plan to connect our app to a data base & maintain real time data.
