Inspiration

There is currently ongoing worldwide vaccination campaign to get vaccines to as many appropriate persons as possible. There have been many hiccups during this vaccination distribution initiative especially in developing nations. Often, the general public is unaware that the vaccine doses are even being administered or where these vaccination centers are located. In order to reach herd immunity, mobile vaccine centers may have to be deployed to the most rural areas of the world.

What it does

It monitors vaccine centers including mobile centers near you.

How we built it

We used Firebase, Google Maps API and React.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints limited the amount of features we could add. We'll mark this as a WIP.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to use the Google API with no prior experience.

What we learned

How governments organize public health campaigns (especially in Kenya).

What's next for Vaccine Tracker

Add a regional SMS broadcasting feature.
