VACCINATION AND CHECKUP ASSISTANT

inspiration:

The Kenyan healthcare landscape faces challenges in remote areas, with limited access to accurate information and timely vaccinations and checkups. This project aims to bridge this gap using Vertex AI.

What it Does:

Leverages Vertex AI Agent Builder to create a conversational AI assistant accessible through mobile phones . It includes information on prenatal checkups and vaccination given to babies immediately after birth. Offers a knowledge base with comprehensive information on various vaccines, their benefits, and potential side effects, sourced from credible health authorities. Its a system that can be used by any person around the globe, its accomodating.

How We Built It:

Utilized Vertex AI Agent Builder's no-code interface to design an agent then we added a tool to the agent which used the free domains released by WHO to the public.

used dialogflow CX to simulate the conversation of the bot and a user and utilized the google sites to make the bot available to the public.

Used the information from healthcare organizations to populate the knowledge base with accurate and up-to-date vaccine information.

Challenges We Ran Into:

training the model ensuring it gives relevant information.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of:

Developed an AI-powered mobile solution accessible to Kenyan communities, promoting preventive healthcare. Increased awareness of vaccination schedules and checkups, particularly in remote areas. Empowered users to take charge of their health .

What's Next for Vaccination and Checkup Assistant:

• Expanding the knowledge base to include additional health topics relevant to Kenyan communities.
• Exploring partnerships with mobile network operators to offer free or discounted data bundles for the service.
• Integrating with SMS gateways for critical health reminders and basic appointment scheduling functionalities (if technically feasible).
• Implementing sentiment analysis within the bot to potentially offer basic emotional support or guide users towards appropriate resources.
