Inspiration

I am pretty sure we all know where the inspiration came from: COVID-19. It is currently affecting billions of people around the world.

What it does

The simple aim I wanted to have is to create awareness and urge people to get vaccinated as fast as possible. I know what some of you are thinking, 'How is this related to a lockdown'? Well, if we don't want to have frequent lockdowns due to a huge spread of the COVID-19 virus, just get vaccinated to avoid this spread and to protect yourself as well! I tried my best to relate these two very important to one another. How to play it? The girl will be followed by your mouse pointer, and try to get her to catch as many vaccines as possible, and remember, one vaccine is one point. If she touches the COVID-19 virus, the game has to be restarted

How we built it

The platform I used is Scratch. I focused a lot on the coding of the movement of the COVID-19 virus particles (The red things floating in the air). I paid close attention to the scoring system as well, by creating a new variable for this.

Challenges we ran into

Believe it or not, I scrapped an entire other project because I felt it did not relate to the topic. However, I didn't lose motivation, and decided to do another project all over again and surprisingly, it worked!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am just proud of trying my best, despite all the little challenges I went through.

What we learned

I learnt many new ways of coding, and none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for this hackathon.

What's next for Vac-catch!

The next thing I want from this game is for people to get vaccinated:)
