✨ Inspiration

Focus is getting harder every single day — constant pings, endless scrolling, and a mind that refuses to sit still. I wanted something that didn’t just remind me to “work harder,” but actually understood how I work.

That’s where the idea for VFocused came from:a productivity app that feels futuristic, fun, and actually helpful — not another boring timer with a bland UI.

🚀 What it does

VFocused helps you build real, deep focus habits using a mix of:

  • An AI assistant that analyses your day and gives personalized feedback

  • A smart Pomodoro timer with customizable focus + break durations

  • Weekly stats and clean charts to visualize your progress

  • A neon, cyberpunk-inspired UI that makes the whole experience feel fresh

  • Optional user API key support for better AI performance

In short — it’s like having your own productivity coach, but cooler.

🛠️ How we built it

  • UI and core features: Flutter (Dart)

  • State management: Riverpod

  • Local data storage: Isar Database

  • Charts & insights: fl_chart

  • Timer + animations: custom widgets + smooth transitions

  • AI Assistant: OpenAI Chat Completions API

  • Secure local API key handling

Every part was designed to be lightweight, fast, and offline-first (except AI responses).

⚡ Challenges we ran into

  • Getting the AI responses to feel natural and not robotic

  • Designing a neon UI that looks modern without being overwhelming

  • Perfecting the auto-cycle system for Pomodoro

  • Managing analytics and local database behavior

  • Tight hackathon deadline (the real boss fight 😂)

  • Handling user API keys safely and cleanly

These hurdles made the project more fun — and definitely taught me a lot.
