UZMED — AI-Native Medical Assistant
About the Project
UZMED is a medical platform built for doctors in Uzbekistan. It provides access to medicines, ICD-10 codes, clinical calculators, pediatric reference data, and vaccination schedules.
We were inspired by a simple problem: doctors often spend valuable time searching for medical information and performing routine calculations. We wanted to make these tools accessible through AI.
With WebMCP, we connected UZMED’s existing medical functions to AI agents as structured tools, including:
- searchMedicine
- getMedicineInfo
- searchICD10
- calculateDose
- getVaccinationSchedule
This allows an AI agent to interact directly with UZMED instead of simply reading the webpage.
For example, a doctor can ask for a medication dose, and the AI can call UZMED’s dose calculator and return the calculated result.
The biggest challenge was integrating WebMCP into a large existing medical application without breaking its current functionality. We learned how structured web tools can make AI agents much more useful, reliable, and capable of interacting with real applications.
Our goal is to turn UZMED from a medical reference website into an AI-native medical platform that AI agents can actually use.
