Inspiration
I recently discovered the bridge between my two passions, tech and designπ. I have been through a UX/UI rabbit hole and whenever I tell people that's my interest, they don't exactly know the difference between UX and UI. With the wide availability of tools that are out there for free, I wanted to make an interactive, educational tool that could easily be embedded in a website. The target audience is kids, and that's why I went for a colorful, fun design that uses graphics from Figma's website
What it does
Educate young people about the basic definitions of UX/UI design and what they can do to get started
How I built it
I used the Unity Engine since it has built-in UI's like text and buttons. The dialogue system was something I incorporated using the asset Fungus Engine. I made one scene and simply made a narrative scene π₯
Challenges I ran into
I have a pesky button that doesn't cooperate, it fades in and out when it's not supposed to.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I worked very, very fast π
What I learned
I learned how to use a tilemap in Unity for the first time and this proved to really speed up my productivity in a way that I really needed in a 12-hour hackathon π΄
What's next for UX/UI Learning Tool
I would like to make this a tool for learning about several creative paths such as game dev, and web and mobile dev. But first, I need to fix that button bug and expand on UX/UI from the basic definitions I've set.
