Inspiration
We were inspired by our essays constantly having a weird maximum word limit we've had to stay under, as such we always wanted a way to accurately count our word count. Additionally, we like to mess around while working towards deadlines, sometimes we send memes to each other. And so UwU Word Counter was born, it does both!
What it does
Allows the user to count their words and uwuify their input text if required.
How we built it
We built this being fueled by a chicken wing from hell
We built this using the React framework on top of a node.js package called "Uwuifier". We also made use of the MUI React UI library as our design library.
Challenges we ran into
Since we had not done react in a while, we were a bit rusty at the start. However, we managed to get a hold of it after a while.
Working on the same project with multiple people was something new for us hence we have some trouble finding ways to do so effectively. In the end, we decided to use the Live share VSCode extension.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The word counter works like a charm and so does the uwuify feature.
