Inspiration

I have always loved poetry, and as I was studying the impact of utopian writing on societies throughout the world I thought it would be helpful to others to view a template breakdown of a very famous utopian poem.

What it does

This app is a static breakdown of the poem "Utopia" by Wislawa Szymborska, including sections highlighting word choice, literary devices, and the impact of utopian poetry.

How we built it

I built this application using simple HTML, CSS, and Javascript, adding animations and simple aesthetic styles to make the learning experience interesting.

Challenges we ran into

I originally built this entire application with a flask server to host it locally, and when I transferred it to static I had to delete a lot of my work (the entire backend), which was sad but honestly worth it to be able to host the website publicly for viewing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of deploying my first application to Github pages.

What we learned

I learned more about simple Javascript animations and using observers. I also learned how to deploy a static application to Github pages.

What's next for utopian_poetry_analysis

I feel as though the system for dissecting utopian poetry should be extrapolated from this project and then provided as a template for other hungry souls to explore such writings for themselves.
