Inspiration

What truly inspired us was seeing the outdated USTHB website. As students of such a prestigious university, we felt it deserved a modern, visually appealing platform that reflected its academic excellence. The lack of responsiveness and the weak design pushed us to take action and build something better.

What it does

Our redesigned USTHB website provides a responsive, user-friendly platform to showcase the university’s faculties, events, services, and contact details. It organizes key information into structured sections with modern visuals and easy navigation — all while reflecting the university's branding.

How we built it

We began by brainstorming and sketching ideas on paper. Afterward, we designed the UI in Figma to visualize the structure and layout. The development was done using HTML, CSS (with some advanced features), and minimal JavaScript. We paid close attention to accessibility, responsiveness, and UI/UX feedback throughout the process.

Challenges we ran into

Time management was a major challenge, especially during the exam period. Also, learning JavaScript and advanced CSS features on the fly was tough since some of us weren’t familiar with them. Coordinating work and ensuring smooth collaboration as a team also took effort and adaptation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we were able to build a fully functional, modern website from scratch. We successfully applied new technical skills, communicated well as a team, and created a product that could really benefit the university and its students. Seeing the final result was very rewarding.

What we learned

We learned how to divide work efficiently in a team environment, improved our UI/UX thinking, and discovered many new CSS and JavaScript techniques. We also learned how to use Figma for professional UI design and how to manage feedback to improve the overall user experience.

What's next for USTHB WEB SITE AND WEB BROWSERS PRESENTATION

Next, we aim to present this website and our approach during a university event or workshop. We’d also like to push this project further by integrating it with backend technologies and possibly proposing it officially to USTHB. We hope it becomes a useful resource and an inspiration for future student-led initiatives.
