Inspiration
For years, I've been a builder in Legacy, but I always struggled with 3D modeling and scripting. It felt like a barrier to bringing my ideas to life. When I first got my hands on the new desktop editor, I was blown away by the power of generative AI. Suddenly, building and scripting became so much easier. The Style Reference tools and the Creator Assistant unlocked a level of creativity I never thought possible. They transformed the way I work, proving that with the right tools, anyone can be a designer and a developer.
What it does
My project is a tutorial video designed to make the desktop editor accessible to everyone. I used CapCut to edit the video and structured it as a step-by-step guide. The video goes over each of the Style Reference tools and the Creator Assistant in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
How We Built It
I developed it with Cap Cut. In order to make it more engaging, I incorporated AI avatars. A cowboy AI avatar guides the viewer through the process of creating a cowboy-themed environment. This makes the tutorial interactive and fun, turning a learning experience into a creative journey.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was the sheer amount of time and detail required to produce a high-quality tutorial. It was crucial to break down the process into small, manageable steps so that no one would feel overwhelmed. Despite the long hours, seeing the final product—a comprehensive, fun, and easy-to-follow guide—made all the effort worthwhile. It was a very rewarding experience.
What we learned
This project taught me how to create beautiful, immersive platforms with incredible speed and detail. I learned that the new AI features aren't just a shortcut—they are a way to focus on the overall vision and let the tools handle the technical details. This allowed me to build more detailed environments faster than ever before.
Whats Next for Gen AI Tutorial
I plan to create more tutorials that will help foster and grow the Horizon community.
