Inspiration
We wanted to learn practical data science skills through actual practice, and thought this dataset was the perfect challenge
What it does
Predicts the number of diagnoses a diabetes patient will have based on their demographics and past medical history
How we built it
Through the uses of R, Python, Excel, SAS, many packages, and a bit of ingenuity
Challenges we ran into
Occasional loss of direction, there were so many things to consider We also lost about 2 hours of progress to SAS Studio
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A final product :)
What we learned
Machine learning is a major component of data science, and that there are countless questions you can ask given one dataset
What's next for Using Predictive Modeling to Forecast Diabetes Severity
Present, and try more predictive models to look for better results
