Inspiration
I was inspired to create the best UI/UX possible for students, as I knew it would encourage the use of the platform.
What it does
It allows students to find the best location to study based on the availability of study areas. It also allows them to book spaces.
The navigation bar has a light mode and a dark mode
How we built it
I built it alone since I am a solo competitor. I built it using React. I designed the user interface myself, but I also used Cohere AI to debug and fix the many mistakes I made. I also used Vercel to upload the GitHub repo to a functional website.
Challenges we ran into
It took some time to properly integrate Azure into my code (2 hours). I was putting in the wrong credentials.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I think the UI/UX is very good. I think that's my strong point, although it could be better.
What we learned
This was my first time using Vercel, and it's incredible. I love everything about it and how it integrates into my workflow.
What's next for USF Study Space Finder
It would be awesome if students could upload their course schedules and it creates personalized recommendations for them. I attempted that, but this feature would take more time to research on how to do.
