Inspiration

We were inspired by the issue of how many people often go to the doctor because their urine is an odd color, but often it's most likely nothing too serious. With our project we save doctors time, and give people fast results and relieve fear efficiently.

What it does

Our project scans urine samples and records and displays possible diseases a user may have, using a color scanner and displayed with AR. The process is simple: A User takes a sample of their urine and puts it into a standard water bottle cap which is an everyday household item that everyone has access to, from there with our application the user scans their urine samples and gets immediate feedback of what potential diseases they may have. From there the user is given the option to learn more about their urine status.

In the end the app is planned to collect information of the users, by the different colors of their urine scans, and with consent this information will be publicly displayed for the people's knowledge.

How we built it

Project: Research on how to detect color using open cv library, how to detect urinary conditions based on urine and color then, found an open cv sample, and modified it to be able to detect urinary conditions using the color.

Prototype: With EchoAR we were able to come up with a prototype of our our final application may look like, and then using an additional AR application we were able to fully demonstrate it.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty to begin with, with the lighting in many areas, as it would not stay constant, altering the colors of our samples.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to implement AR successfully into our project.

What we learned

We learned how to properly create a prototype of an app using AR.

What's next for Urinary Disease Tracker

We plan to implement our tracker through a fully developed Application, that is user friendly and that can be used on a phone.
