Inspiration
The motivation comes when I was planning on moving out of my current apartment. I met different agents, paid the inspection fee and yet was shown some house far far below my standard despite making them aware of the choice of apartment I will like to rent. This dissatisfaction made to go online to see if there is a solution already developed to solve my accommodation problem. All I got was a platform that display the apartments and append the agent number (call agent again?). How about I get what I want with little or no agent intervention? This is what I want and I want to build the solution for others to use as many are also in my situation.
What it does
UrbanVilla will make accommodation easily accessible across the country and ease the burden being put on the house seeker through agency. It will also make agency work easier as they may have to communicate less with the house seeker while their cash inflow begin to experience and exponential growth.
How I built it
UrbanVilla is built with MEAN stack (MongoDB, ExpressJs, AngularJs and NodeJs).The tech behind UrbanVilla will be more than MEAN stack in the long run but as it is we are using the basic tech our team is comfortable with to get it functioning.
Challenges I ran into
As the implementation has not begin fully, there is little or no challenges but I know whatever challenges that will surface during the implementation will be part of the development cost
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud to tell you that my team has been able to come up with a working prototype of how the project will work in real life and solving the problem afformentioned.
What I learned
I learnt that people really suffer alot in this country when it comes to accommodation and it inhumane to keep living in such dilemma hence the UrbanVilla project coming to make peace among the house seekers and the landlords or the agents.
What's next for UrbanVilla
We can't wait to begin implementation fully that will span months of developments and launch the platform under 6 month for Nigeria to use.
