Project Name: UrbanPulse Navigator

Overview

Welcome to our UrbanPulse Navigator Platform, designed to bridge the gap between City Officials and Citizens. This innovative platform empowers city officials with data-driven insights and provides a dynamic channel for citizens to engage in the enhancement of their community.

Inspiration

We were inspired by how citizens connecting with each other can help make sure those in need are safe and aware of their surroundings, and made the app be able to work with city officials so that emergencies are monitored and handled swiftly, while incorporating data analysis charts and allowing for the incorporation of emergency protocol services.

How we built it

For the front end the UI/UX was made within Figma, to which there were integrations of Mapbox for the interactive map. Along with Soma Global Data integration for the Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD) that is in use in nearly every city within the nation. The back end will work with data processing functionality and feeding that through to the front end, as well as more extensive CAD(Computer Aided Dispatch) integrations.

What we Learned

UI integration and scaling with background size in Figma, creating interactive buttons and traversable maps within Figma.

Challenges we faced

Our ArcGIS integgration was initially not connecting to our API key and not integrating within Figma, which led us to use Mapbox instead. Mapbox seemed to work much better for us and additional assistance through the Figmap plug in allowed our program to use a map much more effectively. The biggest challenge we faced, however, was having to integrate all of the menus within 24 hours, as it was difficult to balance between creating menus and focusing on our main map page.
