Inspiration
We were inspired by games like Mini Metro and the general clutter of the NYC streets.
What it does
It is a puzzle game that requires the player to build roads and transit to lead vehicles towards an exit point without colliding into each other.
How we built it
We used the Unity engine to develop the game.
Challenges we ran into
We found that it was quite difficult to update vehicle paths accurately as the player is adding to the grid, and making good looking graphics in a short time frame was a challenge
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of building an engine that can accommodate any arrangement of player built solutions to the puzzles
What we learned
We learned how to work with Tilemaps in Unity and that making a feature complete game in a short time frame is incredibly demanding.
What's next for Urban Sprawl
We want to polish the game a bit more, add some kind of tutorial and endless mode to fully utilize our engine.
