Since 2014, communities in Flint, Michigan have been facing a water contamination crisis. Because of the decision to change Flint's water source, the water people in Flint have been drinking has lead contamination. Especially in the aftermath of the Flint water crisis, we think it's important for us to be able to visualize water quality complaints reported to our government.

What it does

We decided to build a web app enabling people to see how water quality complaints are distributed throughout New York City and what types of water issues are being reported in their neighborhoods.

How we built it

We built the backend using node.js, mongodb, express.js, and mongoose. The map was created using cartodb and pulls from NYC Open Data. The front end involved HTML and CSS. We also designed the logo. The image on homepage is a photo we took in NYC.
