Inspiration

We took walks around the neighborhood and saw how polluted it was. This encouraged us to think about the world around us. Seeing how bad it is right now, it made us want to do something. This caused us to make this project to try to help the environment.

What it does

Our project is specialized to help encourage people to sense what they are doing wrong about the environment. This is the first initial step to preserving the environment and stabilizing the ecosystem. We hope that this project encourages ordinary people to take action against the damaging of the environment.

How we built it

We first collected data using Chat-GPT about the cities around us. Our project was tested in code.org, implemented in VS code, and contributed and shared ideas in GitHub. Our website is mainly built with HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

The first and most complicated challenge was to decide the background color. This challenge took us hours and made us use 100% of our brain. We have came up with many early prototypes of the background colors. Our first prototype was using black as we all like dark mode on laptops. We scrapped it because you can't see anything at 3:00 AM. The second prototype was making it neon colored, solving the issue with the first prototype. But apparently, green and red don't mix. We finally solved it by using different shades of green representing the color of wildlife, which is the topic of this project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After we finished the background color issue, we felt really proud of ourselves. This is one of our most important accomplishments in this project and we decided to celebrate with Bedwars.

What we learned

Throughout this project we learned one very important life skill; to always value teamwork and value each other. This could be important as it teaches us to become better.

What's next for Urban Development and Wildlife

Identifying the problem is the first and most important step up the stairs of preserving wildlife. Our next step would be to take action and continue to inform people about the environment.
